Evening meal
We had a lovely meal on Tuesday evening with friends. The food was excellent and the service too it is a very friendly place and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Amazing experience
We’ve been looking forward to this for several months and L’Enclume didn’t disappoint. Very small unassuming doorway leads you into a room of calm and low key elegance. We were in the conservatory area overlooking garden & Cartmel Priory. From start to finish was just incredible. We had the lunch tasting menu with flight of wines. Some of the food ingredients I would never would have considered ordering on a menu but it was all beautifully prepared/presented and flavours incredible and there was nothing we disliked . The waiters were all extremely knowledgeable and we were well looked after without being over bearing.
Expect the unexpected
We visited for lunch this week, expecting the “usual” cafe fare in a quirky environment.....not so ! The menu was just that bit different, they offered 3 choices of soup (my husband had the fish chowder - best he’s ever had) and I had baked sweet potato with chilli beef. Totally delicious and proper homemade food. We will definitely be back next time we’re in Ulverston
freshly prepared, homemade food
On a very wet, chilly December afternoon we were delighted to come across this tearooms for some warming food! Despite waiting some time to be served (we expected a waitress to come over for our order, as observed, but ended up having to put in our order for food after over ten minutes), we enjoyed warming soup and thickly filled freshly made sandwiches, with a tasty salad garnish. Worth the wait!
Amazing
We are now loyal customers of this lovely restaurant and the staff always make us feel so welcome. The food is incredibly good with fantastic combinations of flavour in every dish. The staff are really passionate about what they serve and have created a really enjoyable atmosphere. We just feel lucky to have such a wonderful place to eat so close to home. Our favourite dishes are the belly pork with fennel onions, the halloumi (not sure how they get it to taste that amazing) and the calamari but never not enjoyed a dish.
Delicious food
Had a delicious meal there to celebrate my husband's birthday. Every dish was fresh and tasty. We were delighted by the quality of the food and will be back.

This place did not disappoint. The staff are lovely, polite and accommodating, the food is truly exceptional. Beautifully served, wonderful flavours. It is certainly worthy of its Michelin star and other accolades. Cannot wait to return.
Excellent breakfast and dog friendly!
Excellent breakfasts here after recommendation by the Mill pub. Delicious bacon (from the local butcher- so we had to buy some!) and meaty sausages! Perfectly cooked poached eggs and everything served on hot plates. Staff were super friendly and very helpful- especially for reserving a table- highly recommended!!!
