Booked to come here for a Friday to Friday after staying in a touring van over 24 years ago, wanted to see how it had changed. We stayed in Buttermere 22. The caravan was excellent, couldnt fault it at all, when entering it smelt like a brand new van, even the plug sockets had usb charging points in and this was just a deluxe newer model. 5 minute walk to the entertainment and mini market so great location. We were very lucky with the weather so visiting Bowness, Kendal and Ulveston. We walked in to Flookbourgh and Cark which is about a 25 minute walk. The club room was very nice, as someone else commented bar prices a bit steep and cost in mini market was a tad expensive too. We love playing bingo so had to be in the club for 5 pm each evening which was a bit early. We are a middle aged couple so after the bingo would either eat in the restaurant or go to the chippy. Can't fault the food in the restaurant and the service was really quick. May not be so peak season. WE had a smashing curry sauce and chips from the chippy on Saturday it was very busy but went again on Tuesday and there was nothing cooked or ready so we ended up having some from a mobile van by the min mart, they were some reason more expensive even though it was run by the same company and the curry sauce was congealed. Apart from that little slip up would certainly go back, found all staff really friendly. Park was clean and tidy and the grounds were well kept.
From the moment we arrived we couldn’t fault the service, facilities and atmosphere. Not easy in the current times when you can only eat outside and restrictions are everywhere, however the staff were excellent and the park is very well run. Large park, very well laid out and in a great spot for exploring The Lakes.
